OUT OF SERVICE

29th-Mar-2011 01:08 am - Hello, friends (and enemies)
rose red: you've got to believe her
WHOO PUBLIC ENTRY.

Anyway, will be gone for the next few days. If you need to reach me or anything (not that you would), just leave a comment.

Also, I'd always meant to do this, and have always been too lazy to, so. Anon meme:

IP logging is off, anonymous posting is on. So hit me baby one more time. Something you always wanted to say to me or ask me but were too afraid/polite to do so? Now is the time to do it.

Requirements: Acrobat Reader (or a similar program) for the .pdf, Finale for the .mus.

Let me tell you the sad thing about this: a) hardly anyone knows this song; b) it is not accurate enough to be a worthy transcription, yet too similar to the original to be a fresh/interpretative version of it; c) I cannot play or even read this piece even though it's simple and straightforward (<--- no sense of rhythm LOL). TRUFAX. 11 pages, 3:40 minutes of playback, and many hours later, it's kind of pointless. =____=;;

The weird thing is that I never meant this to be a serious project. I just sat down, played the song on my MP3 player, and suddenly oh, oh, OH. and before I knew it I was play-pause-rewinding and cursing my Zen for having an unfriendly rewind-fastforward interface. And then I told myself, "Enough," but then I realized I left the refrain unfinished, so I went back to finish just that, and a few measures became the next verses until I was a little more than halfway through, and I was working on this on and off my 3+++-hour YM conversation with [info]minhomeanhoe (all because of Franco - THE WORLD IS SUCH A SMALL PLACE. Disclaimer: I do not actually know Franco, and it is embarassing to be mentioning him like this), and then I keep trying, I keep trying and it was tricky SO I GAVE UP altogether.

But it mocked me like the scabs you itch to pick and I'm like ARGH, so I finished it the following day when the internet went kaput. And then I realized the futility of it all, but it's okay, because I am frustrated with Life, but I cannot pound, maim or throw things at Life, so I'd rather get frustrated with Other Things, so I have been multi-tasking and not letting myself sleep or be idle. But Life is like Other Things: I just cannot let it go, or let it cliffhang like that, a gasp of a note at the edge of a beat tied to a blank measure.

Which is to say, I love this song, really. And run-ons.

Why am I walking barefoot
Upon this road with no one around?
I close my eyes to this decision
The night's like coffee to my tongue
Like waking up without a sound
I map the words out
Maybe you will say them

For [info]serenityrages, because I promised her last night that I'd try "someday" and I thought, "What the heck, let's get it over with." I don't know what violin sheet music looks like, but haha. Things are messed up towards the end because I was getting lazy and really sleepy and if I put off finishing it, I'd never get it done. Fix the timing/stuff/whatever yourself, hahaha. It's also badly abridged, I'm so sorry.

Merry Christmas, Riegele. :) I'd give you this in hard copy, except that I can't see you over the Christmas break. :P

[PS] Strike three/four for Amanda and Valen, this is so sad but so funny. Haha.

PPS.

Happy birthday, [info]alpenglowe!♥

Pride OST - So-so [original mp3, sheet music for piano (pdf), midi]

For personal reference since I'm sure no one knows the song, let alone is interested in it. Simple stuff that just needs dynamics.

I do encourage you to download the original mp3, it's a lovely song, one of my favorites in the soundtrack. I didn't know if I should follow the foreground melody or stick to the piano, so I ended up going for the middle. The sounds meshed in my head, hahaha. I'm actually pretty tonedeaf, believe it or not.

You know, while I wasn't transcribing this on Finale yet, I was struck with the brilliant idea to split the song into a piano/violin duet for kicks, but after doing the piano solo, I got tired.

There was going to be angst and stuff, but who cares about that.

Spur-of-the-moment thing. I know I should be working on my other projects, but it just sort of happened on its own. I guess impromptu is the way to go.

Please don't post this anywhere else. Thanks.

Lastly, a wth message: halu po' pwd mgtanung babae po ba kau o lalake po.... sory po sa ds2rbo. I missed a call from the same number. Creepy.

Series/Artist: Hana Yori Dango (Live Action)/Arashi
Song: WISH
Download [midi | pdf]

To open the .pdf file, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you're having trouble and need the sheet in an image file (ie .jpeg), just tell me and I'll put it up when I come home. 8D

Notes: Was in a hurry/got lazy, so I started recycling/transcribing by memory towards the middle, and the timing's all messed up as usual. Very loosely based on the instrumental track of the song from the OST. Feel free to modify, add your own chords/dynamics/etc. Please don't post this anywhere else. Just link to this page. Or my sheet music tag (http://star-flare.livejournal.com/tag/sheet+music). Thanks.

I got this from The Sandman Companion--courtesy of [info]elusive_carrot, I really love it. Wish it were mine.

Neil and some other friends were visiting me in Northampton, and we all went out to dinner. We hadn't seen each other for a while, so we spent the meal catching on up on what each of us had been doing. When it was my turn, I began telling everyone about the story I was doing for From Hell, my comic about Jack the Ripper. I'm a man who loves his work, and I do tend to give all I've got when I'm describing a scene.

So I was just describing a ritual disembowelment of a woman in London and the almost supernatural aura surround it, and Neil suddenly got up and said, "Excuse me, I'm just going to go outside a minute." And he went outside, overcme by the sheer demonic power of my presentation.

When he came back in, I forgot which body organ was being removed at that point in my narrative; but Neil caught a few words, did a complete U-turn, and walked straight back out.

When we went searching for him later, Neil was sitting in the gutter outside the restaurant, head in his hands, looking absolutely wretched. And he was being mothered by a bag lady. It was a very Neil Gaiman moment; the lady almost could've been Mad Hettie from his Sandman stories emerged to persecute him.

I remember looking down, with no sympathy for him whatsoever, and just chuckling and saying, 'Neil Scary Trousers Gaiman, Master of Modern Terror.'"
